Lost Pippin Pommeau - An Aussie Interpretation of a French Classic

Pommeau is an alcoholic drink originally produced in northern France by mixing apple juice with apple brandy: Calvados in Normandy or Lambig in Brittany. If you are not familiar with either of those, please trust us - they are good!

Calvados or Lambig are both liquor produced by distilling dry craft cider. According to the established French rules they must be aged for a number of years in oak, which gives the spirit its deep amber colour of the final Pommeau. This apple liquor is a must for those of you who like their oak aged spirits such as whisky or cognac.

Mark at Lost Pippin got introduced to this fabulous drink while in France and in a true maker's fashion got inspired to help you folk enjoy it too. He has joined forces with Peter Bignall, from Belgrove Distillery at Kempton and the first barrel of Lost Pippin Pommeau was produced. Mark uses Pinot Noir barrels to bring more complexity, just like whisky is made.

Lost Pippin Pommeau received a Bronze medal at the Australian Cider Awards in 2015 in the class of Specialty/Experimental Cider. This truly makes one sophisticated gift due to its versatility and class. It can be enjoyed as an apéritif or alongside rich cheeses and desserts.

There are only a handful of these available and they are hard to find. We are extremely lucky to get access to this product and are now passing on this opportunity to you. First in, best dressed! When it is gone...
